A Melbourne landmark
The giant vertebrae at our door.
Before you reach the art inside, the Centre introduces itself from the street: the world’s largest reproduction of human vertebrae, around 3,500 times the volume of the real thing, standing sentinel at the entrance of our 1862 Victorian building on Victoria Parade.
Dr Ari commissioned it in 1995 to celebrate the profession’s centenary, and it is more than a sculpture.
Step close and it speaks, and down each side, a nerve is lit.
It is a model of subluxation, the idea our whole approach turns on, standing on a public street.
The vertebrae are only the housing, through them run the spinal cord and the nerves that carry every message to and from your brain.
That living system is the work of this Centre.
Eight moments, one thread
Never the same shape twice.
Eight figures across a single sheet, each one caught mid-movement, never still, never twice alike.

Why the environment matters
Environment is a contributing factor, not a backdrop.
The science of epigenetics shows that our environment helps shape how our biology expresses itself – we are not at the mercy of our genes.
Cell biologist Dr Bruce Lipton has spent decades exploring exactly this.
It’s one reason the Centre is designed the way it is.
And aA nervous system that has spent years on guard reads a room most closely of all.
For a body still braced against long-past stress or trauma, surroundings that feel like a refuge are not a nicety.
They are a physiological signal, one of the conditions under which a nervous system decides it can let something go.
Considered, down to the details
Even the things you won’t notice.
Much of what shapes your time here is unseen: the air you breathe, the water, the warmth, the light, the very sound of the room.
Filtered air and reverse-osmosis water, low-EMF wiring and gentle hydronic warmth, living plants in every room and a quiet, phone-free stillness: all considered, quietly, for your health and your ease.

Each carries a story, and together they make the Centre feel composed, considered, and unlike anywhere else you go for your health.

The adjusting zone is now home to fourteen original works of Resonance Art , the largest exhibition of The Keys to Awaken anywhere in the world.
